Well, I 'm not Alexis, but, I have removed tough stains with nothing but a can of coke. Let it sit for a few hours and then give it a good scrub with your toilet brush.

White cleaning vinegar and blue Dawn, 50/50 is a great scrub but not so much for a pleasant smell. Unless you go with something that hangs in the bowl I don't think it's going to maintain a smell. The main thing I have found that keeps the bowl smelling clean is to get the jets nice and scrubbed down monthly.
