My husband and I have been working on these awesome shift knobs made from broken skateboard decks. They are available in our Etsy shop and can be custom fitted for your cars stick shift.
We sand the grip tape off of the decks, cut down the skateboard decks and then glue them with wood glue overnight.
After cutting them into a rectangle, we place them in our lathe and begin to shape them
After several cuts, we find our desired shape
The knobs are them sanded down with two different types of sand paper
This is the raw unfinished knob before glossing takes place.
A Thick glaze is poured over each knob and takes up to 24 hours to dry
This is a finished knob, each have a one of a kind design, shape and size.
