Here are three very easy ways to turn ordinary battery operated candles into three extraordinary holiday centerpieces
I started all of these projects with two different size cream-colored battery operated candles.
Project one - Birch Bark Candles
1-I began by painting the candles gray using acrylic craft paint.

2 - To give the candles texture, I used a utility knife to cut lines and knots into the candle.
3 - I then applied a dark stain to the candle and wiped off the excess
4 - When the stain had dried, I painted the candle cream, wiping off the excess paint.
5 - Using a flat brush, I painted the cuts that were made with the dark stain.
And here are the birch bark candles. No one will know they aren’t real bark! They create that warm and woodsy vibe to your holiday decorating.
Project Two - Glitter Candle
1 - I began by painting the lower 1/4“ of the candle with Tacky glue
2 - While the glue was still wet, I sprinkled large glitter onto the glue. I continued working around the candle in small sections, working my way up the candle.
And here they are. In less than 15 minutes, you have a sparkly centerpiece for your holiday deorating.
The third project is a Gold Gilded Candle.
1 - Using gold leaf metal, I removed one sheet from the packet then gently tore off small pieces of the leaf.
2 - I applied the leafing to the candle using my fingers, rubbing briskly over the leaf until I achieved the look that I wanted.
And here are the gold glided candles! Gold such a warm tone to add to any holiday decorating.
