Lava Lamp Flowering..

My guy got a lava lamp for Christmas. He wanted it for center of our dining room table. But it stuck out like a sore thumb. So I came up a way to camouflage it. Also to meet the weekly challenge of twine and burlap. So for the New Year and first project for a new month here it goes. And yes the butterfly gal at it again! LOL. Happy New Year everyone!

Started with the lava lamp. It just didn't look right by itself in center of the table. (My guy idea). So I had to turn this into a center piece to camouflage it.

This blue clothe is one of those dish towel type thing you lay dishes on to dry.

My supplies. Styrofoam ring. Burlap wrap. Twine/burlap string,blue artificial flowers taken off the stem, blue marbles mixed with green flat bottoms, and blue battery operated lights.And butterflies and flowers nylon ones.

Step one center it on the cloth.

Step two wrap burlap around the ring and then use the twine to help keep it in place.

Here's what it looks like when wrap.

Then make holes with a pen or stick so that the flowers can be stuck in the holes all around the top of the ring.

I stuck the nylon butterflies and nylon flowers around the ring. Then I put the lights around the ring. Then finally lay the marbles around the base.This project went fast. About 15 minutes to put it all together .

This is so pretty! You can also use it for wine bottles!

Thanks.. When I get company I will for sure switch it out for my favorite wine.. Its a new year which means more projects ahead.
