Halloween Burlap Wreath

Turn your summer wreath into a creepy greeting for your Halloween guests by re-vamping a burlap wreath. No need for Jack-o-Lanterns or candy corn for this grown-up version of Halloween.
My burlap wreath was decorated with sunflowers and wheat sheafs for the summer. Instead of putting it away in a cupboard, removing the flowers gave me a blank canvas to work with. For complete instructions to make your own, check out my blog: http://www.newhousenewhomenewlife.com/?p=1892
Starting with some black roses from the dollar store, I cut the stems into manageable lengths to create a "perch" for the black crows. The rose blooms were set aside for later use in the project.
These black crows give me just the right amount of creepy Halloween decor. Simply hot glue them to the perch, securing with wire if necessary. Be liberal with the glue on the body to adhere it to the burlap to make it stronger. Tuck the roses in for some extra creepiness.
Hung on the back door ready for trick or treaters of all ages.
