Do you want to make some spooky and cool and inexpensive Halloween decor? Do you also want your decorations to be weatherproof? Use black trash bags for torn curtains and hang them up on your October porch.
We built a simple arch out of scrap lumber spray painted black. Then we cut black trash bags open at all the seams and cut each one in strips to staple to the arch. LOVE how they blow around in the slightest breeze!
You can even tie them back for a calmer look. The big fat plastic pumpkins are Dollar Store trash bags stuffed full of crumpled newspapers. More trash bag strips decorate the mossy tree branches in the urn.
You can never have too many tattered black curtains blowing around on an October night! The sign is made with sticks and hot glue on an old board, and was also simple and cheap!
Suggested materials:
  • Black trash bags   (Dollar Store)
  • Scrap lumber   (on hand)
