DIY Dollar Store Halloween Decor (That Doesn't Look Like It!)
I'm on a mission to prove you can get a high-end Halloween look on a dime, without sacrificing money OR style. I challenged myself to come up with several DIY ideas using items from thrift stores and The Dollar Store, and here's what I came up with... Halloween decor that's stylish AND costs about $1 or less. Check out the link for tons more ideas that I didn't have room to show! http://makinglemonadeblog.com/halloween-decor-decorations-cheap/
This thrift store owl was a cheaply made trinket so it was okay to paint, and paint it I did. A few quick hits of glossy black spray paint and red glitter glue for eyes and 'whoooooo' is now scared of the spooky owl?! (plus, I can always spray paint it again for a trendy non-Halloween figurine for my bookshelf!)
This 'brain' cost a few cents at a discount store, and the box was from a thrift store. Put them together and you have the start of a fancy (ghoulish) laboratory.
Dollar Store snack containers and drawn on eyes make creepy party favors when stacked in a bowl.
A craft store owl under glass. BOO!
IKEA bottle + Dollar Spot (from Target) chalkboard tags = scary potion
Place pumpkins on candlesticks for a quick, chic look!
Another thrift store makeover... adding some creepiness to a thrifted cheese dome. Be sure to check out the how-to on my blog!
Ahhhh... plates in Halloween colors make a perfect blank canvas. There's several ways to DIY them for added decoration. (find the tutorials by following the link)
These crows (I'll call them 'Ravens, lol!) cost only a dollar, and I clustered them for an eerie look. They're a big hit with the kids! I'm having so much fun with these DIY Dollar Halloween Ideas, hope you'll stop by to see the rest. :)
