How do I winter proof a cat house?

Hello, I was wondering if you could give me so good tips on winterizing an outdoor cat house for our farm cats. We live in Minnesota & I would love for them to keep toasty warm over the winter months.
Thank you!

You see them in the stores but they are outrageous in price. Can anyone help me out with ideas?
My dogs have a pet electric blanket. They dont like to sleep inside and I feel it is too cold but the love the banket. The cat was always in there too. If that is not an option go to the thrift store and buy old blankets for them to cuddle up in.

They make electric blankets for pets. Cats will love them.
I used two heavy containers that came from Walmarts. I cut a hole in the first one on the short side and one in the end of the long side. I then cut a hole into the last one on the short side of it. Make it so that they can go in and make a turn to go to the back container. I then raped and taped insulation on the out side top and bottom to keep the cold out. I also put a blanket in the last one for them to lay on and stay warm. It worked and they were in it all the time. Hope that helps you! Oh and one more thing I raised it on some bricks to keep it off the ground. It doesn't have to be high just a few inches.
This looks like good an idea, I can’t tell if the top is lined as well. ,maybe double line the entire box, and make sure it’s heavy so it doesn’t get blown away, and an insulated flap. With their body heat that should be good, maybe a thick fleece, pillow and blanket as well.
I liked the ideas above. Definitely raise it off the ground. Maybe one of the pet doors , that dogs and cats use to get in and out of a house, could be put on the entrance, to help block out wind , rain & snow.
