Diy Felt Magnolia Leaf Garland
The other day I was scrolling Pinterest and came across a pretty felt magnolia leaf garland. I figured it couldn't be that hard to make one, so I did!
I'm going to show you a simple and easy way to create one too! This project is time consuming due to creating the leaves; but it's worth it!!
The cost of this project is based on what I paid for the felt. You may be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.
You will need some craft felt, scissors, and a hot glue gun. I found my felt at Joann's craft store.
I decided to create a leaf template from some cardboard I had on hand. This is what I used to create my felt leaves.
I found using a paint marker was the easiest way to trace the leaves on felt. I'm sure a sharpie would work great too.
I traces as many leaves as I could on each felt piece. I then used scissors to cut them each out.
After the leaves were cut out; I added a small strip of hot glue to the bottom end of each leaf.
Once the glue was applied, I pinched the end of the leaf together, as shown. I held it a few seconds to make sure the glue firmly held the sides together. This created a small "stem."
After creating the stem. I added a small amount of glue down the end of the leaf.
Once glue was applied down the side (a small ways up from the stem; then down the side of the stem,) I attached the leaf to another.
I continued to attach each leaf using hot glue. After attaching about three leaves, I created a pattern. This helped me figure out where to connect each leaf as I went along. There really is no specific pattern to doing this. It is personal preference.
This is what the back of the garland looked like as I continued attaching and finishing it.
You can make the garland as long or short as you like. I wanted something that would work on my table, as well as on my mantle.
You can dress the garland up however you please. Here I added some pretty flowers.
Here is another way I added some pretty touches. I used a dough bowl, placed the garland across it and the table, then added flowers to the dough bowl.
It just adds a nice touch for any season!

Ingenious and beautiful work! I can imagine using this technique on a coordinating wreath base; green felts for leaves and colored flowers, as well as this stunning monochromatic theme.

Absolutely Beautiful! where did you get the flowers? They appear to be paper. Please advise. Thank you so much for sharing.
How many squares of felt would you say it would take for a rectangle table that fits 8 ?
