I am really big on decorating for the holidays and I have so many hand-made decorations for every occasion. Recently, I saw a tutorial for using old liquor bottles to make painted pumpkins. Well, I don’t have any old liquor bottles but I realized that I could make something similar using some thrift store vases. (P.S. This tutorial is super easy!)
Want a beautiful fall decoration? Check out these thrift store vases that I upcycled!
I began with a plain old long necked vase that I purchased at my local thrift store and using white spray paint, painted it white.
I blended together several shades of orange acrylic paint as well as a few drops of red and white paint. I then swirled them together with a toothpick and dipped in a paint brush. Paint the vase using a paintbrush using long strokes going in one direction.
Wrap the neck of the vase using a strip of burlap. Secure the burlap using hot glue.
After wrapping the neck of the vase with the burlap, secure it with the hot glue and tuck one of the spray of fall elements into the burlap. Also secure them with hot glue.
Now you have a beautiful fall decoration to display in your home!
