Would you like to repurpose a trio of spindles for the Holidays? Here is how I added a touch of whimsy by adding a set of Snowflake ornaments!

I love how versatile these spindles are! While looking for something to use in a project, I stumbled upon them. I have used them several times since finding them stuffed in a basket in the bottom of the closet last Christmas.

They made their first appearance in the Red, Rustic and Reclaimed centerpiece pictured below.

Their neutral off- white color allows them to work well in a number of different color schemes. For this Holiday season, I am using red and cream as my main colors and adding touches cinnamon for several of my displays.

Snowflakes Wishes and Gingerbread Kisses is the name of my main Christmas theme this year. I found these cute ornaments that combine snowflakes and candy canes as well as gingerbread. They are perfect for my display, don’t you agree?

The ornaments could simply be looped over the spindles.

I decided that I would like to add a little more whimsey and motion to the trio of snowflakes. A stake or something long yet slender enough to fit in the hole at the top of each spindle was needed. These adorable gingerbread snowflake pics were just perfect!

By using wire cutters, I was able to cut the stems of gingerbread off of the main stem and then cut the stem into three pieces. I set the gingerbread snowflake cookies aside to use in a different project.

Since I don’t have a glue gun (sad, I know), I attached the stake to the back of the snowflake using Velcro. I actually use this Velcro method quite often. I am able to quickly change things out if I decide I want to use them somewhere else. Here is an example of how I used Velcro to attach little pots as feet for a tray: How to Affix Feet to a Tray Without Using Nails

Once you have the ornament attached to the stake, simply place the ornament topped stake into the hole in the top of the spindle!

I kept these fairly simple. If you wanted to, you could add a bow or some decorative wire.

Once the Christmas Holidays are over, simply remove the stakes and you can decorate them for the next Holiday!
