All you need is some plain fabric or a plain pillow cover, some fabric paint and a stamp to add a little pizzazz!
Take a plain pillow cover or a piece of fabric.
Take a plain pillow cover, or a piece of fabric that you will sew into a pillow, and lay some cardboard underneath. (Or in between the layers if this is already sewn pillow cover). Start with pre-washed fabric!
Add a squirt of fabric paint to your paint sponge. Dab this onto your stamp. By the way - you could even use a potato stamp for this! Start stamping your pillow. I alternated between lighter and darker stamps for effect, but you could make them all uniform too. Let your fabric paint dry for at least 24 hrs.

After 24 hrs, you need to heat set your fabric paint. You might want to check with your specific brand of paint for tips on how to heat set. I heat set mine with a dry iron on a very hot setting.
I sewed my fabric into a basic envelope pillow cover. You can go to my blog to see the full tutorial for sewing the pillow cover. https://decorhint.com/diy-block-print-pillow-cover/
This is a great craft for kids too! There are tons of different stamps on the market and tons of fabric paint colors. Why buy an expensive cover when you can make your own?

And don't forget - this works for tea towels, tote bags, clothing etc. Have fun and happy stamping! Check out my blog for more creative and fun diy projects. www.decorhint.com.
