This DIY Felt Cross Stitch Pillow might just be, the cutest little pillow I’ve ever made. I had the idea of making this pillow, but didn’t have a plan for the cross stitch part of it. I wasn’t sure how this was going going to turn out, but I love it! This is an easy sewing project and would make a great gift for friends and/or family. I will definitely be making more of these in the future.
Trace and cut out large X's with felt.
Place your fabric into an embroidery hoop and stitch on the X’s. I used embrdoiery floss in matching colors for the stitching. You can look at a pattern for this or you can make up your own like I did. I tried to arrange mine to look like a flower bud. Overlapping the X’s, also gives you a fun look!
When I finished adding the felt pieces, I removed the fabric from the hoop. I knew I wanted a round pillow, so I traced a circle onto the fabric and cut out. Some ruffle fabric from an old skirt was perfect for this pillow.
Placing the fabric right-side in, I sewed my pillow envelope style, just like this DIY Ruffle Throw Pillow.
When the cover is finished, add a small pillow.
