How do I dye a stuffed toy white?




hi! i have two stuffed unicorn teddys that Id like to die white (i have two - one currently pink one purple) pics attached. i dont want to ruin the softness of them but is there a way to make them white? how would i go about doing it?

I think the issue is to remove color. I know there is a Tintex product to remove color, but I think it works on cottons. Not sure it would work well on synthetic fabrics like teddys. It might make them splotchy. Synthetic fabrics really don't take dye well. You might try contacting the Tintex company (they are ones who make the dyes you usually find in fabric, craft and dollar stores.)
Try wearing rubber gloves and an old cloth. Fill a bucket with bleach water and dab. Rinse throughly with cold water. Let dry.
I once tried to remove color from a synthetic material and it ended up yellow. RIT dye has a website that may be helpful.

Are you sure you really want to do this? I am not sure that either bleach or color remover would work successfully without ruining the softness.....if you need them to be white to match decor, you could simply add a big white bow or put on a white shirt to bring out the white color without risking ruining such cute stuffed animals.
I do not think there is an effective way to remove the color but you could paint them white. There are a number of tutorials on painting furniture that should work for you.
