I used milk crates for my daughter's room and secured them together with zip ties. Spray painted the metal black to match her furniture. She had her toys in it when she was little with baskets. Later she turned it into an entertainment center for her music and video games.
Hi Jacki, are you looking to build something out of milk or pop crates? Like a bookshelf? Or are you looking for info on where to get them?
Here's a couple of great ideas: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/basement/furniture/material-of-the-week-milk-crates-34120617 They make really great storage and can be spruced up with a cushioned top to double as seating too!
Material Of The Week: Milk Crates
Do you want to upcycle these into something for your granddaughter? Can you give us more specifics?
You could use them for storage
Hi Jacki. If you already have the milk crates, you could make a toy box with them. Secure them together with zip ties (or predrill and secure with screws, and nuts, and bolts if they are wooden). You could make a seat to lay on top joined together with piano hinges. Colors to be used to go with her room. Good luck Jacki.
Hi! They are easy to stack and great for storage! Good luck and stay safe!
