Chalkboard Serving Tray

6 Materials
Do you love chalkboard projects? I am in love with everything chalkboard these days. I just can't get enough of that black and white washed look.

Chalkboard paint has so many uses beyond the original classroom chalkboard. They can be used as art, printables, and to label and organize.

I have an easy project for you that started with this glued panel board from Lowes and turns into a Chalkboard Serving Tray that is perfect for hosting parties.

This board is already pre cut 36 x 16 inches, so no cutting needed and ready to go.

Start out by applying stain to the border of the board. Once the stain is dry apply Frog Tape around the border of the board.

Then apply chalkboard paint inside the taped border. I applied 2 coats.

Wait about 24 hours and then "season" the chalkboard. Remove the tape.

Next add some handles to both sides.

Now it is time to show it off. Add your food for the party. Use the chalkboard space to label food items.

Or use it to write something to your guests.

This is such a fun and easy way to have a place to put out food for your parties!

Here is a
Chalkboard Workout Calender that utilizes chalkboard paint to help you get two weeks of your workouts planned and organized.
