Chocolate Mens Valet Update

One of my most popular makeover for small home decor has to be mens valets. I am not sure if they have not been used for so long on the regular and having a resurgence or if many just have boring old wood ones but when I find one and paint it, it sells in hours.

This solid wood mens valet was definitely in need of an update. It lacked pizzazz on many levels. And the inside lining was loose and stained even after a good cleaning.

After cleaning the lining was glued and secured and left to dry.

To make the lining fresh and new I used a favorite teal color. See how on the first coat the teal and orange made green?

But on coat number 2 the teal became a prettier blue and by the 3rd coat it was the perfect update.

The outside was painted a beautiful dark chocolate color from Fusion Mineral Paint. It was painted 2 coats then distressed to keep the vintage aged feel.

Fusion has a built in top coat but to add even more dimension I used their black wax to enrichen the color even more. Once posted it sold in half an hour, what did I say :)
