DIY Decorative Fabric Banner Tutorial
Fellow blogger and designer, Laura Kelly, extended a challenge to me: I'll send you a box of "mystery" supplies and you create something unique with it. Oooh...that's ALL me! Challenge accepted, Ma'am.
This is the stash of supplies that arrived from by blogging pal. I automatically thought...hmmmm...I want to make a fabric banner.
I used a piece of copy paper to create a pattern to make my flags. I then traced the pattern on some manila file folders that were ready for recycle.
I cut out and covered the front and back of my flags with fabric.
I cut circles from poster board, and used my laptop as a shadow box to trace my letters on each circle. I then covered each circle with fabric cut from the white bandanna, used the fabric pens to color in my letters and glued a letter on each flag.
I then folded and secured each flag to a piece of cord.
Once all my flags were attached, I glued buttons to the corner of each flag and tied pieces of ribbon between each for accents and it was ready to hang!
