These flowers are my favorite Dollar Store Craft. They almost look real to me. These flowers are so easy that they are perfect for making many at one sitting. I love them as garlands and just placed in vases. I am only scratching the surface of tissue paper flowers in this tutorial. There are many techniques to really up your game. As I become more skilled at this craft, I will share more tutorials with you.

Let's begin our project on how to make tissue paper flowers!

I chose three packages. I was surprised at the wide variety of tissue paper in stock at the Dollar Tree. 25 sheets of solid colors for a dollar, patterns, and textured were just some of my choices. I chose a large package of solid pastels, a confetti one and one that had patterns in it.

I take several sheets and keep folding them over until I have a long 3 inch section. Then I cut that up into various sizes. 3 inch, 2 1/2 inch and 2 inch and nothing is set in stone. I just randomly cut them up.

I take a folded stack and cut a petal shape out.

To make petals, I add clear glue to the bottom and pinch it. I clip it until dry.

To make the center, I fold over a strip of yellow crepe paper. I believe it was about 6 inches long. I make small cuts along the fold.

To make the very center (the stamen, I think), I use a cut off piece of Q-Tip.

I add a small bit of crumpled tissue paper to the top of it and wrap it in a couple of small pieces of tissue paper. You can make it any color you wish. I had this stamen match the petals.

Then I wrap the crepe paper around the Q-Tip and add clear glue as I wrap.

This one shows a Q-Tip covered in glue with seed beads as the center of the flower.

After the petals are added around the center, I glued it to a wire flower stem that I had wrapped with floral tape and then painted.

It makes me feel like spring is here... even though it probably isn't. Happy Spring All!!! icon  icon  icon  icon

Here is a sneak peak at what I am currently working on...

This is a bit of a flower explosion in my craft room. But it makes me happy and feels like spring!

When it is spring, my favorite colors are spring colors and when it's fall, my favorite colors are fall colors!

Great, these flowers would be great to make a Easter wreath. Thank you. Is it (a) Easter wreath or (an) Easter wreath, hum?

I think it is an Easter wreath but there are always exceptions. Any teachers out there that can tell us the correct answer? You are right, it would make a pretty wreath. The pack of pastel tissue paper from the dollar store is perfect for that.
