I know faux food has been super popular, so I made these cute little pumpkin pies to put on fall and Thanksgiving trays.

What do you need

plaster of Paris

mini Pie tins

modelite

Cinnamon

Paint - brown and tan colors

First, fill the mini pie tins up.

If you fill them with plaster coat the top with a layer of paint and sprinkle some cinnamon to give it a pumpkin pie coloring.

Then let it sit and dry

Next, make the pie crust!

I used modelite to create a the pie's crust.

Go ahead and put the modelite around your "pumpkin pie."

Make sure you cover the tin completely and don't leave gaps. This will give it a more realistic look and help with the next step.

With your finger or a spatula make indents in the modelite so it doesn't look so firm and instead has a pie design like finish.

Once done it should look something like this.

You see how the indents make the crust look more realistic.

To give it a "baked" look we'll paint the crust with the tan color paint.

Here is your finished product!

After you paint the crust tan you can add some "whip cream" on top of the pie using the modelite!

Why did you post this? Now I want a piece of pumpkin pie! Very cute idea. Also fun take home gifts for guests. Add in a little pumpkin pie spice to the mix... would also make your home smell wonderful.
