Finally - A Small Batch Recipe for Papercrete
My previous post Papercrete for Fairy Gardens got an overwhelming response. So many people asked for a better explanation for how to make a small batch of papercrete for a garden container project that I promised to come up with one. New to the game..I had to experiment for awhile first :) Sorry for the delay. Enjoy.
Experiments with papercrete miniature houses. The one on the left was made in 6 flat pieces and later glued together. The one on the right used a one piece mold for the house and another for the roof. The roof is painted with diluted acrylic paint. SOme of the doorways and windows were formed by putting a block in the mold, others were cut in afterwards by grilling a hole and using a jig saw.
This is the paper pulp properly mixed. In the center and other low spots you should see a little bit of water pooling.
Hopefully you can see a collage here of three pictures. The papercrete oozing water as it is gently formed into a ball, the ball, and the ball patted down into a patty.
