How to make a bowl from Jute rope.

You need a bowl size of your choice. Cover with plastic wrap. Use a coat of Mod Podge, then begin to wrap jute starting from the top. Use Mod Podge to help hold in place. Let your bowl dry for 24 hours. Once dry, bowl will slip off easily.

I have been making this bowl with jute and rope and love them. I don't leave them to dry but about 12 hours and that takes care of the wrap sticking. Choochi thanks so much for showing this.

Is the bowl now washable? I have never used ModPodge.
Basket Ladies here https://www.saveur.com/gullah-basket-weaving-charleston have a tradition hundreds of years old, using materials that by law only they have access to. But the technique is free to anyone who cares to watch them in the market for long enough. One thing they do seems applicable-they connect one layer to the next. The Basket Ladies use a method integral to the way they construct their particular basket. When I try this rope basket I'll compromise by using toothpicks or heavier, thicker wooden appetizer picks and I'll soak them first to make them take the curve of the basket. When I put them in, I'll hide them, sticking them into the rope itself and depending on the length of the stick, I'll connect two or three layers at once. First, can you think of any reason this will not work, and second, do you think it is a net improvement?
When I removed bowl after it was dry, the plastic wrap stuck to the inside of the bowl. Any suggestions?
