My friend Michelle loves to pick up curb side projects and make something special out of them. Her hands are like magic. This time she sanded down an old side dresser and made it a fun, new dresser for a child. You cannot imagine the surprise ending to this project!
First was the sanding and the prime paint. Notice the circles drawn on the bottom drawer.
The first coat of paint dried while she was at work.
Notice a close up view of the emblem she drew on the front of the "car."
A final coat of paint was needed because the wood was really dry.
All vehicles need a front windshield.
Handles provided the wipers and stick on lights became head lights. The bumper was another handle at the bottom. But wait until you see the surprise at the end!
The drawers open and close as they should for good use. Now, the surprise is in the last photograph.
The headlights really work. This will make a wonderful little dresser for a small boy or girl in their room. Except for letting the paint dry between coats, this only took a day or less of actual manual labor.
Suggested materials:
  • Old bedside dresser   (Curbside discard)
  • Paint   (Home improvement store or on hand)
  • 3 Handles   (Home Improvement)
