I love to use empty jars to create and upcycle into my crafty projects. I have saved two empty brown yeast jars and thought they would be amazing to etch with the Etchall Creme. Add a little extra paint, raffia, and some glue and I have a pair of cute etched jars I can use as votives or as candy jars!
Start with a couple of brown yeast jars, some Etchall creme, and sticky resist paper.
Soak your jars in water to remove the labels. Then use your fingers to remove the labels. Once dried apply the sticky resist paper in the design of your choice and apply a liberal amount of Etchall Creme to etch the glass. Let it sit for 15 minutes and remove with water.
Remove the lids and paint with a good quality acrylic paint. I choose green. I then took a light brown color to grunge up the lids after the green had dried, and also cut a cork in half and painted it brown for the lid.

Here is a video tutorial on how to make these votives using the Etchall Creme.
I added a bit of raffia to the tops to make them look all ready for autumn. I love the look of the cork and raffia on these jars, it really makes these jars look the part for fall.

Add a battery operated candle into your jars and now you have a sweet little autumn votive for outside, inside, or you can even use them as sweet little candy jars!!
