Ever have one of those serendipitous moments where something out of place becomes an inspiration? I was in one of my local craft stores recently and found this little votive holder sitting on a shelf where it wasn't supposed to be. It is one of the ones that just holds a little votive, and it has a flared top.
Right around the corner from it was an end cap full of mason jars. And I wondered, would the little votive fit one of those jars?
Well, look at that. Lots of space below to fill and customize for any holiday or tablescape. The best thing is there is no glue involved. The votive just lifts out and the bottom filler can be changed over and over!! How neat is that?!! Fill the bottom with red and gold for a Christmassy look.
Add the candle votive and screw on the ring to hold it in place.
If you like, you can glue trims to the ring for a seasonal look. There is a full tutorial on this trim idea - Mason Jar Holiday Candle.
Beaded trim is glued to the edge with ribbon rose for an accent. If you use trim, use a battery operated candle for safety.
Leave it plain so you can change the filler to patriotic. See the entire patriotic tablescape. Great for outdoor use too!
Taking it apart again, it is easy to change the filler to yellow roses for a summer table.
Enjoy adding this simple idea to your holiday decorating!
