If it is not too high, you could use a flat panel door painted or wallpapered and hang it on the wall for a pop of color and it will also cover the box.
Hang a picture over it or nice tapestry something easy to remove in case you need access in the dark.
Boxing it in would be the easiest. And depending on the size of the box hang a picture or some photos on the front.
When I rented an apartment, the gray electrical panel was in the hallway and I hung a large framed poster (no glass) of the Mauritania over the panel. It was lightweight & easy to remove, just make sure that whoever else needs to access inside the panel knows what art it is behind! It’s best not to hang a shadow box over a panel, because it will be a nuisance to remove anything too heavy. Also be aware not to be using any screws or nails too long or too close to the edge of the panel. Remember there are wires behind that drywall! You can also use a hollow stretched canvas box over a light switch when it is not used and in an awkward location to your wall art display! Good luck!
Depending on the size, you can hang a piece of art work over it.
