Soft and Cozy DIY Throw
Today I'm sharing a soft DIY throw to keep you warm and cozy. With only three seams to sew, my simple tutorial is easy enough for beginners…
For my DIY throw, I selected the fabric by touch--this heather gray is a jersey cotton knit and is so soft, plus it's lightweight enough to use as we head into spring. I found it on sale at Hobby Lobby. It was 59" wide and I bought a yard and a half. To achieve comparable results, I recommend buying similar fabric that you can feel "in person." Ready to make your own?
Start by washing the fabric. Next, fold fabric lengthwise right sides together and pin. (Notice, I didn't need to cut the fabric.) Find fabric here!
Then, stitch the long side and one end together, trim excess seam fabric, and turn right side out. (I used 1/2" seams.) Last, press the throw and stitch (by hand or machine) the open bottom end together.
Hand sew tassels or pom poms at each corner. Need tassels? Look here!
My finished throw is 32" x 52"--perfect laying across your lap or wrapping around your shoulders, and it's lightweight enough to use as we head into spring.
