Materials

Step One

Apply painters tape in your desired pattern. I chose to apply my tape in lines and X patterns because the simpler the better for me. I have absolutely NO artistic ability so this pattern is definitely Foolproof! Make sure your tape extends a bit past the ceiling and the base to help get a crisp look. You may also want to tape off the edges. Make sure you are pressing the tape on firmly.

Step Two

Apply your paint. I used a roller and and 1 inch angled paintbrush. The color I am using is Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. I only needed to apply one coat and did some touchups. You will want your paint to dry for approximately four hours before removing your tape.

Step 3

Very carefully remove your tape. It’s OK if the lines aren’t exactly perfect. From a distance I promise it will look spectacular!

Tada! This was a very fun, simple project. Once I get sick of it I just have to repaint. This is my kind of project! Show me your painters tape accent walls, and enjoy!
