What diy project have you tried that inspired you but did not turn out like the inspiration piece?
I saw an idea on Pinterest that looked easy and was cute idea for wall art. It was scrapbook paper flower on canvas
Well I tried it and after the mod Podge dried it looks terrible close up. From a distance it’s nice but close up you can see where the mod Podge was streaky And cloudy etc
So two questions
Has anyone else tried this particular project and if so how did it turn out?
Share your diy project that didn’t work?

Mostly this forum is for people looking for help with a project.
Ugh I am so sorry your project didn't turn out Peggy! I think that probably happens a lot. Pictures can be deceiving for sure and make projects look better than maybe they are :(
Hi Peggy, I have had mod lodge get cloudy in areas. You want to apply in very even thin layers and let it dry very well in between coats.
I tried chalk paint for the first time and then failed. I re-did the project and you can see it here - https://chascrazycreations.com/plant-stand-side-table-upcycle/
All of them! But I usually just keep working with material until it I'm satisfied with the results.
The only project I've done that turned out as intended was when I painted the study with 12" stripes.
Staining mason jars blue. Haha it was such a craft fail!
Oh gosh, I'm sure there are too many to list but the joy in that is that the project then becomes uniquely yours!
I tried the $50 bathroom makeover. Learned some important stuff the hard way.
Use an exacto knife to seperate the painters tape from the paint so it doesn't rip.
Also be careful and pay attention to the nozzle on the spray paint can. If it clogs it can shoot big blobs of paint on the counter making a huge mess.
Some of the paint chipped off leaving a large white spot on the counter.
So be warned if you try this.

I tried the toilet bombs and they were a bomb!!!
Hi there,
Think the Mod Podge was supposed to be on the underside of the fabric only. You might be able to remove the smears by wiping off using Surgical Spirit!
Hi Peggy: You might try getting a small foam brush, wetting it and holding it on the mod podge to soften it up and maybe remove it. Yeah, I've tried making a cake that looked like a cat. Mine looked like a weasel :(
Mod Podge does leave behind a clear film... I would try something like rubber cement for this... then to clean it I would just dust it with a feather duster since the paper will be exposed.
Lots!!!
I love to try different project but always try to finish them off before I start a new one
