lda...l would just buy a bigger pot & carefully remove plant from old pot & put in new one adding more potting soil
Always a plant will never ever produce mors weight in flowers or fruit than the weight of the container inwhich it contains.
This means you not only need to Get a larger pot, you also need to realize:
Always, I stress, Water is not food.
You go Try substituting water for food for 16 hours, then you will agree: Water is not food.
You need to make all your plants instead a 'diarrhea sour' mixed drink.
1 quart to 1 half gallon of hot water
1 oz unsweetened lemon juice or lime juice [optional]
6 to 8 oz manure [1 small folgers can]
I assure you, even the cheapest grade Manure [$3 for 40 lbs at Lowe's] is way better than Water.

You should replant it in a new pot. Buy a bag of African violet or general purpose potting soil and remove the old violet from its pot. Use a new pot slightly larger than the current one. Put soil in the bottom, add the plant, and gently pack the soil around it, making sure not to leave the crown (where the stem joins the roots) too high. Water well and you're done.
