Yes! Fairly extensive. Might well take more than one person to move it. Dig out a Big Root ball and water it in it's new home well, and keep an eye on it.
usually, the roots are about as expansive below as the plant is above ground. Best advice is dig the second hole first, so it can immediately go back in the ground and water well with root stimulant. Good luck!

I move a Crape Myrtle several years ago and it is still living and blooming. I dug away from the roots, a big hole as left. I wet the soil before I lifted the roots out. I had the new hole prepared before I removed it so the roots would not be exposed for long.
I always use the old farmer's method to prune: from Spring thru Fall, only prune during months that have the letter "R" in their name. For example, you could prune in April but not in May. May does not have a R in it. I have used this method for many years and it has always worked for me. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
