Cheap Way to Cover Ur Ugly Kitchen Backsplash Tile

Needed a cheap & easy way to update a 1960's tile backsplash without ripping off the old tile or spending a fortune. I found Handy Metal Wall Tiles on Amazon! Used some double sided foam tape & stuck them right over each tile! I bought 3 colors so I could make a pattern: brushed aluminum, chrome, & black. They are 4"x4" - which is the size of the old tiles. I colored the old grout with grey grout paint (Home Depot) then stuck the new metal tiles over the old tiles. Cleaned the tile & grout with TSP cleaning solution.

Measured the existing tiles. Each tile is 4x4 inches.
Picked the colors of new tin tile (they are like tile covers!) picked 3 colors & bought enough to cover all the old tiles. - 24 come in each box.
Painted the grout so it would match the new tile colors
I cut the double sticky foam tape & placed them on the back of each new tile & pressed the new tin tile over each old tile. U can glue them on if u want but I like to change things up so I used foam tape - making it easy to pull off if I decide to change the pattern or colors down the road.

Tiles are done & covered the countertops with Contact paper! Lol. Painted the cabinets black.

This is great news. I have been budgeting to get my tile removed and replaced but this advice is literally saving me a lot and the finished work looks really great considering how little it goes for in comparison to removing it all. I hope others get to see your advice cause it's awesome.
Thanks a lot.
