Not long ago I found a little curio shelf in the trash. It's obviously home made and I knew I could do something with it. I decided to make a little jewelry holder. I didn't think to take a picture of how it looked when I pulled it from the trash but it was an off white with different colors painted in each section.
SUPPLIES:
~ white chalk paint
~ blue and green craft paint
~ white pool noodle
~ cup hooks
~ old drawer knobs from another project
~ an old wooden spool
~ mandala stencil
All supplies are things I had on hand from other craft projects.
Total cost: $ 0
This is after 1 coat of white chalk paint. I painted a second coat just to give it good coverage.
And this is it all finished and filled with jewelry. I painted the top piece with blue acrylic craft paint and then used a mandala stencil with white paint to give it a finished look.
The earrings are hanging on pieces of the pool noodle that I cut to fit.
I painted these 2 sections with green and blue paint. You can see the pool noodles against the colors. I also used hooks and old drawer knobs to hang necklaces.
I used a wooden spool to hang bracelets and more hooks to hang other pieces of jewelry.
Here is a side view showing the drawer knobs on the side where I hung a few more necklaces. I did this to each side.
And here it is in the bedroom on top of the Martha Washington cabinet that I refinished earlier this year.
