I was so excited when Nicolette informed me that I was chosen as a winner of the Heirloom Traditions Paint Challenge. I knew exactly what piece I would paint ( red cabinet/end table)and what color (French Toile). It is such a beautiful shade of blue.
I cleaned the cabinet with water and mild dish soap. I then removed the knobs, drawer and doors.
I decided I wanted pulls for the doors instead of knobs. I purchased a pkg of 2 for $1 at my local Habitat Restore.
I spray painted the pulls and knobs.
I know with chalk paint you don't need to sand. I had a spider web looking finish. I wanted it to be smooth.
I drilled holes for the new pulls and filled the old ones with wood filler. I let the filler dry and then sanded it down. Now for the exciting part, painting it.
I then attached the hardware and doors.
Enjoyed the project?
