I participated in the Heirloom Traditions and Hometalk Paint Challenge this month. I decided to paint the tv stand in our living room in hopes of brightening up the room and creating a more "distressed" look to go with the rest of the decor.

Heirloom Traditions Paint & Hometalk Challenge
5 Materials
Original black tv stand in our living room.
New knobs from World Market to complete the new look!
To start, I applied first coat of chalk paint with a paint brush.
I let the first coat dry for about an hour and then applied a second coat of chalk paint. I wanted a rough'ed up look so I sanded down the edges after the second coat dried (sanding not pictured).
Poured my wax into a bowl to apply with a paint brush.
Painted on the wax coat.
Wiped wax down with a wet sponge.
Wiped wax coat dry with a rag.
Finished product!
Tada! Very pleased with how much this lightens up our space!
Enjoyed the project?
