Restoring a Hutch Into an Armoire

After purchasing an Hutch from craigslist for a steal of a price, I decided that I could not use the hutch in my dining room, being that it was just too big for the space. I did not want to toss out this beautiful piece of furniture though. I was in the middle of doing my daughters room and thought this could be the perfect piece to complete that space.
The first step was to add some chalk paint to the exterior. I did paris gray and some dry brushing of white chalk paint to give it some texture. By spray painting some bun feet with antique gold spray paint we added these to the bottom to give the "armoire" some height.
I decided that the inside would be too complicated to paint and that covering the glass would be best to hide all the not-so-pretty stuff inside. I found some mirror spray paint and painted the glass and combined a water and vinegar mixture to antique the glass some more. By spritzing the glass a bit either with spray bottle or just a flick of the hand...the glass begins to becomes more "antiqued" and less perfect. The overall look feels very rich and completes the space really nicely. We bolted the piece to wall for safety purposes so this thing is not going any where for a long time. Just loving the storage it adds and the drama it brings to the space.
