Hello. Harmless spider. I had one near my tomato plants nearly all summer. You might view an interesting zigzag pattern spiderwebs.

This spider is not harmful to humans. Here's some information on it:

That should be a garden spider
We've had these and they are huge (especially to those afraid of any spider) and hang out in the garden. The body markings and design of the web are giveaways.
It is a garden spider.
they eat other insects and are not harmful but I wouldn't touch it or bother it- if they are near my door ways, etc I gently take my broom and remove them to the ground outside and let them go elsewhere
Typical garden spider. All spiders are poisonous that is how most kill their prey but not all are harmful to humans only a few like black widow and brown recluse are to be avoided at all cost.
Black-and-yellow garden spiders help control insect pests and are especially appreciated by gardeners. Also, because of their colorful patterns, tendency to remain in the same general area all summer, remarkable web architecture, and easily observed behaviors, these harmless spiders are excellent creatures for children and adults to watch. If you are frightened by spiders, this is a good one to simply observe all summer to help decrease your phobia. If a female garden spider takes up residence among your tomatoes, try thinking of her as a weird little tenant who pays her rent by gobbling up grasshoppers.

Hi Jo-Ann hope this helps you out, Yellow garden spiders are large, orb-weaving arachnids, meaning they spin a circular web. These spiders produce venom that is harmless to humans, but helps to immobilize prey like flies, bees, and other flying insects that are caught in the web.
Yes - harlmless!! They are big and can be scary - but when I look close - they really are beautiful! I see them around my milkweed plants all of the time!
Its a good garden spider. It makes interesting webs.
I don’t like spiders, but they are hard workers to weave their webs.
Hi Jo-Ann, that little beauty is a garden spider also known as a golden orb-weaver. We love seeing them in our garden and it's believed that when they weave the zig-zag pattern on their webs it helps attracts bugs and serves as a warning to birds not to fly into the web. They're tidy little things too. Every evening the female spider will dismantle her web by eating the silken threads and spin a new one the next day.
it is not poisonus spider. I always thought that all pretty is

It has several common names: black-and-yellow argiope, black and yellow garden spider, corn spider, golden garden spider; golden orb-weaver, writing spider, yellow garden argiope, yellow garden orb-weaver, and zipper spider.
