If you think this is a one-time problem, spread borax along all the wall seams and underneath the sinks and other sources of dampness. If this has been a persistent problem, and roach sprays don’t help for long, hire an exterminator or try to make your landlord hire one. Roaches can live off wood, cardboard, fiberboard and other materials without a bite of real food, but any moisture inside or outside can make the roach problem worse. ☺️

Try getting diatom powder and sprinkling it where the bugs are. Not poisonous so kids and pets are safe, but not anything that wears it's skeleton on the outside. To people and pets, it's no more dangerous than chalk, but it's like razor blades and causes rips and tears in a bug's 'armor' and they die of dehydration.

Diatomaceous earth. Google it. It is safe for pets and children. You can feed it to your pets for parasites etc. Some people take it. It cuts the carapaces of bugs. Good stuff.

I would go with the diatomaceous earth, I would be afraid that the roaches may spread the boric acid poweder when they walk through it and can get it on anything they walk on. Not good for your health or any pets.
