How to determine best pesticide to use around foundation?

Ants can be destroyed by using something as common as Jiffy corn muffin mix (available at many grocery stores for about fifty cents). Just open the box and sprinkle it in the area where they are seen, do not bake it, just fresh from the box.

They take it back to the colony and it wipes them out. Repeat as often as necessary-No pesticides needed.

White vinegar is what I use.

Sprays will just kill the ants you can see "scouts" and "workers" Won't kill the nest. They'll keep on coming back and you need to reapply. As a former maintenance supervisor we used Terro granules. Sprinkle it around, they take it back to the nest, kills the nest.

I use diatomaceous earth for ants, it’s all natural and pet safe. Clears up the ants pretty darn quick without chemicals.

Hi Tom. I'm Cindy. Spritz the ants with good, old fashion white vinegar. Spray it around the perimeter of your home. Both indoors and outdoors. Repeat this process in 3 or 4 days to kill any eggs that were left behind the first time. Good luck Tom.

Both are poison so I usually put something over area I put the Amdro like a flower pot or something to cover it if you have kids or pets a rock maybe. It only takes a few hrs for ants to carry bait to nest and with in 24hrs nest will be entirely gone.

I use packaged cornbread mix that says it is sweetened and put it where they are. They will take it to the mound, everyone will eat it and die, they can't digest the cornmeal, but will take it because it is sweetened. Little goes a long way.

Medicated powder from the Dollar Tree. It has eucalyptus in it...menthol...I puff it around my homes foundation..and inside under my birdcages in the cracks under moldings. Work immediately and they never come back. I do this at the first sign of ants..in one day..GONE. The powder is in a very large container and lasts quite awhile too !! And smells great !

Ants are so weird. One time I found them inside the freezer in the garage!! What would possess them to go inside a freezer only to die? They must have sent signals back or something ~ there were no ant trails only a freezer full of dead ants. Hasn't happened since.
