What is the formula for weed killer using vinegar & salt?

My neighbor used vinegar & salt to kill all his weeds, but I read on this site there was some other additives people added with good results-- please share if you know of anything else to add to the mixture.

Do not use this if there is grass or plants near. White vinegar and water 50/50 a dab of dish soap and a dab of salt. -

I use vinegar for a lot of things, and I hve used it to kill weeds which it does. I have not used salt w/ it, so not sure of a formula. -

I only use straight vinegar as it works just fine. -

I would NOT use the salt, just the vinegar. Salt will stay in the ground and spread out.
