quick summary of getting rid of gnats and fruit flies.Create a trap by mixing apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap.Another home-made trap is to pour leftover red wine into a jar.Mash up banana slices in a jar and cover the top with a plastic wrap.Pour bleach solution into the bathroom sink. Warning: do not mix bleach with ammonia.Use an insect fogging product if you are dealing with a large-scale infestation.Place rotten fruits into a jar to attract them. -

Apple cider vinegar in a small container with a lid that has a very small hole --- flies are attracted to the scent, enter thru the hole and drown. -

I put a rotten tomato in a jar, and then poke holes in the lid. The flies go in but can't get out, leave it there all summer. I put the jar behind the toaster so it can't be seen, it looks gross! -

Found this answer on Pinterest- Spray with rubbing alcohol, make sure that the room is ventilated.
