How to fix Patio issue?

Needing help with this area that has washed away the little amt of dirt that was there & as you can see needs to be addressed.
my hubby would like to add concrete up to the bottom of the step pictured w/ the metal flashing (right side of the photo)& have it slant slightly so it runs down the rest of the patio/hill

Do you have a water problem is that how the dirt was washed away?
When we moved in there was dirt and lantana but which was good for several years & I pulled the lantana and it’s now as it’s pictured
You could contact your cooperative extension for what plants to put in to stop the erosion.
How would you like to use this portion of the yard?
Are you hoping to be able to plant some trees or other greenery?
Are you hoping to expand the concrete portion of the patio?
Would you like to have lawn or landscaping such as low maintenance rocks?

I think the first thing is to direct your water and drainage. Perhaps a french drain or similar. You may want to consider adding a few small plants to help hold the soil as well. If you go with concrete, add a dye to stain it or stamp it - some type of decorative addition to make it more appealing since concrete is rather boring.
I agree about addressing the drainage and water flow first, especially if you plan to add concrete. We had a concrete patio for years and we loved it. It was inexpensive and we painted it a pretty color, however we just tore it up and put down pavers, because the ground underneath settled so badly, everything cracked. We put pavers down instead, because if more settling does occur, we can lift them in the areas needed, add more sand or base and put them back. With concrete, once it's cracked, there is no fixing it.
You could cement it and make a small little area on the end the water can sit in and run down like a small trench but like 3 inches wide just for the water run off
You could do that or imprint it as you go or Slabs on top. or maybe dig a soak away!
It might depend on your goals for the area, what you’re willing to do, and your budget. Plants will help absorb excess water and prevent pooling and runoff. You could add a dry well or French drain. If it’s really bad, have it re-graded. More impervious surfaces, like concrete may create additional problems. Talk to a landscape designer or engineer about your issues and decide where to go from there.
