They make special paint for concrete , brick , masonry. Ask at the paint store counter to show you.
Hi Linda, clean the concrete well before painting with an acrylic cement primer. Once it dries completely you can paint with concrete paint (if people will be walking over it) or normal acrylics if it's purely decorative.
You will need to clean with a concrete etching solution then paint with concrete formulated paint. It will depend on what you are doing in your application as far as rolling or brushing.
