did you know you can use chalk style paint on fabric? Ohhh YES CAN!
Its Important to clean fabric if needed and vacuum well before starting. Then you want to create a Dye like consistency using the chalk style paint mixed with water-see video down below for tutorial
the key is to make sure you wet down the fabric too!
thouroghly moisten or spray fabric with water first. Create a Dye like consistency using chalk style paint-I'm using Bohemian blue from the DIY paint co here. See full video tutorial for this complete project from start to finish to better understand this process.
You can see in this photo that the first coat of paint covered extremely well as this paint is highly pigmented, I'm kinda liking how the under tone of mauve is translating as a purple hue too! You need two nice layers of paint. Watch the video for all the details.
It is most important to use at least three layers of wax to seal the paint-the last thing you want to see happen is for any of the paint to rub off onto anyone's clothing ;)
see more on this process and the entire hand stamping process too over at my blog at
and make sure you connect with me on Facebook for all my live demos and tutorials I offer there every week!
See part 2 vidwoman below to see how the stamps were used
