Hi Linda! It looks like rit dye is made specifically for dieing fabrics so I think it would work great! The key would be thoroughly cleansing and washing the excess out of the chair later.
Hi Linda, you can dye upholstery fabric. I suggest you find a small piece of the fabric from beneath the chair to remove and do a test patch on. I have tried varioius colors on my leopard print chair and so far nothing has covered the beige portion the way I'd envisioned. Nearly every color comes out a "rust" or "brown" color so the fabric is not taking the dye color well. Rit Dye Company has instructions on how to do this......but TEST FIRST!
Hello. It might depend on your specific fabric on your chair. Many manufacturers can use a Scotchgard type proprietary stain deflector finishes on their fabrics. I do agree a test application might be necessary
I wouldn’t because it would be really difficult to rise the dye out. If the covers come off the cushions it might work

Yes make the dye to package directions in a large bowl how much your gonna need so it’s all the same color then have T it.
