How to clean and dress this table?

If the finish is in good condition, you shouldn't have to reseal it at all after cleaning with Murphy's Oil Soap. Very often these tables were polished once a week with spray furniture polish by the owner.

Murphy's Oil Soap is a good choice, follow label directions.You could also use a product called Orange Glo, it is a lighter cleaner than Murphy's and no need to reseal.

You can't really put new sealer over the old and you shouldn't. New sealer can soften and "melt" the existing sealer. Make a big mess. After you clean it you can use a spray wax which would need to be done often or a paste wax which can last up to a year.

I am not a fan of Murphy's Oil Soap as it leaves a residue. In order for the new finish to adhere, I would clean it with TSP or denatured alcohol and then use Minwax stain and poly in one.

Hello. A good beeswax polish might be suggested.

You can sand small areas each day if you really want to strip it. It isn't that hard. I personally hate the liquid strippers and much prefer good old fashioned sand paper. Any cleaner including dish detergent that de-greases fingerprints will work. You can wipe stains on with a rag. Since we have no idea what shape yours is in it is hard to give you a definitive answer for refinishing.

Glad you found a solution! For future reference there's a product from Dixie Belle paints that is like TSP called White Lightning. Does a great job cleaning up.
