Hi Geri, did the water seep right down to the paint and through the wax? If so, you will likely have to sand it down and repaint it sadly. If the water stains are just in the wax layer itself, you can take a lint free cloth and should you be able to buff them out. You can also add a new layer of wax and then buff and it should remove the water stain if it did not seep through to the paint. Hope that helps!

How to Remove Water Stains from Wood: 6 Tricks to Try

Wax isn't a great sealer and chalk paint really doesn't like water. Always use an urethane sealer and avoid using chalk paint on table surfaces that could get wet.
I believe you would have to sand the water stain out. If it were sealed wood, not paint, I would try the iron trick, but I don't think it works on painted surfaces.
I would gently sand if off and add another coat of chalk paint
Hello there,
Remove wax and repaint, only this time use a Satin paint instead and coasters for the drinks.
Try sanding it and redoing it
Sand it off and ready-paint with a flat or matte latex enamel. It will look like chalk paint but will perform much better.
Chalk paint it porous.
You may have to sand off the water stain and repaint and wax it.
Hi Geri, chalk paint is very forgiving, sand it and do a touch up on it, that would be the easiest way to fix t up.
Have you tried to lightly sand the spots then re paint them
