How about painting it and adding new hardware?
Thank you great idea!
Do a two-tone finish with white or off white with drawer fronts stained dark. It looks like you will have to replace the hardware since one piece is missing.
Maybe paint it white and fill in the lines with black.
Paint the protruding piece under the top drawer black, as well as that odd "decorative" thing at the bottom. If it can be removed, I would take that off.
If you don't want white, a gray would be awesome too.
You want to go the stain route...which is what I would do, then go a dark stain.
Hard to tell, but is there wood grain visible or is this a veneer? Paint if it is veneer.
clean it well with some hot water and a little Dawn dish soap let it dry well primer with Kilz or Zinsser then paint your choice of color that will match her new decor or just her favorite I'd use semi gloss(easy to keep clean) or even high gloss (more for modern shiny look)add some great new hardware and maybe some antiscuff feet/pads if she has wood floors like these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G6X9TD1/ref=sspa_dk_detail_6?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07G6X9TD1&pd_rd_w=GqFIP&pf_rd_p=8a8f3917-7900-4ce8-ad90-adf0d53c0985&pd_rd_wg=3yp7H&pf_rd_r=0CNRFGHSQ5SKG39M7CQW&pd_rd_r=79c890eb-1fa5-4107-b3c9-20ffa71e698f&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE4RjhPMllSQjRMTjMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAzNjc1MTFCS0ZPQU5SM1M1VCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwMTc5MTAzOUxIUlgxSklCWDc2JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfZGV0YWlsJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== She'll love it
You can use chalk paint. It is so easy to use and requires no priming. Visit my post where I share 5 easy steps to use chalk paint.

What's your daughter's style? Does she have any particular colors or themes that she uses in the room in which it will sit? I would suggest painting it, adding a highlight trim color along the edges, and perhaps a stencil on the drawers. You can also cover the drawers in fancy wallpaper. Definitely get new hardware. Based on the clean lines of the drawer, an art deco, modern, glam, or industrial style may fit best-I'd avoid shabby chic or farmhouse. Don't be afraid to add other materials or elements such as metal strips, mirrors, casters, hooks, or the like. Have fun!!
Hi Linda, you can transform that dresser into a one-of-kind piece by using old, broken suitcases and handbags. This tutorial will show you how https://acraftymix.com/blog/epic-stack-suitcases/
