A large egg is about a 1/4 cup. since I use goose eggs for baking I always measure and adjust accordingly. Hope this helps.

Funny to me how they reclassified small to medium. I still buy eggs from a local egg farm when I can.
So I’m not going crazy! When baking for Thanksgiving I thought my extra large eggs were a lot smaller.
Thank you Stephanie and Naomie for your answers and Pierogiman for your question!
😊
I raise chickens, so egg size is a big thing for me. I don't sell much, but do need to size them. I've always gone by anything over 65 grams, or about 2 and a half ounces, is an XL, and anything under 50 grams, or roughly 1- 3/4 ounces, is a small. Not that this means anything to most people, but its yet another reason I am glad I don't buy store eggs. One thing you can do, for recipe purposes, is know the weight of the size eggs they call for, so if you get "medium" eggs, that actually qualify for a small egg, you can make adjustments in your recipes.
Yes...a small egg seems tiny, etc. I agree they are smaller.
It's like any thing else you buy same money just less
We have chickens so we get fresh eggs daily. In winter sometimes I have to buy store eggs and hate it
