I really like this bench idea, but I would have used cedar or other woods that hold up under the elements. Even though this looks like a protected space, be on the lookout for mold and rotting if the wood gets wet! -

I love furniture that serves more than one purpose. Our heavy coffee table and two side tables have hinged tops that provide lots of storage for all our tablecloths and placemats and more, in the family room. Our living room coffee tabletop lifts to desk height for coloring, crafting, and other cool projects. Best wishes 😇
